Local paper met me outside town, local radio had me on for an interview, great people in town, found internet cafe and updated some emails, banking etc. walked through town thinking abut having pasta or Pizza by passed a couple of cafes and then thought tuna will do and then around the corner came Romeo & Juliet Italian restaurant - Yeah Pizza and pasta it was great nice staff and then they suprised me with offering the meal as their support - THANK YOU made my way in the dark to Griffith Caravan Village office closed I wondered if they would mind if I set up tent on great grass they had outside office, I called emergency number and the man said Ill be 5 minutes. He pulled up and we chatted for a bit - then they said we heard you on the radio and would like to offer you a cabin as we are flooding the grass 2night. Great shower great sleep and even Breakfast pack THANK YOU so much Keith and Pearl

10th Griffith to Barellan 51km

Later start 7.30 - struggling against head wind - lacking motivation. But met great people on road that brings the energy back and kept going. Met Tony & Kerry from Gold coast on their morning walk shared some nice moments - THANKYOU for your encouragement and understanding. After 2.30 thinking about stopping for the day and car pulled up with Bernadette and daughters Beer or Ice block was the offer - I chose Ice Block - Frosty Fruits after photos they drove away and I burst into tears - Frosty Fruits were one of Brony's favourites, I took it as a sign to keep going, my tempo increased and started to see Brony's touches in lots of things that have happened.
Couple of hours later Bernadette was back to tell me there was a room at the pub if I made it - wow I couldn't believe how wonderful they were. I tried to up the pace again - 6pm and my legs were burning so had to pull up for food at the rest area legs up and some tuna & beans rest for 40min and I just wanted to stay were I was for the night, but I didn't want to dissapoint Bernadette so I carried on This was my biggest km day so far. made town on sunset and I saw 2 figures walking in the distance - wow a welcoming commitee. Bernadette and her daughter out for their evening walk escorted me into town it was so nice to share the last 500mtrs with someone. Dinner and drinks at the pub, meeting locals - it was a great night and everyone I met was fantastic. Thank you Barellan

11th Barellan to Mirool 54km (CBR just out of town)

Crazy - I walked further today. Met some local at Artlethan pub and bowling club, also the BP at Beckom was great meeting Jaz - shouted me dinner. it gave me the energy to almost make Mirool but ran out of daylight and with nowhere to pull up I kept going forward with Hope that I would find somewhere safe- sure enough over the rise the bend in the road had made a section of road cut off and perfect place to stay and wtach the lighting in the distance.

12th Mirool to West Wylong

Long walk today again and ran out of water and daylight - but rest day tomorrow so no dramas.

AMAZING - sitting having lunch break looked up and saw somebody wlking towards me - low and behold another long distance walker - John Olsen walked across from WA to Byron Bay and now walking south to Geelong, sat and shared stories compared notes for an hour, GREAT MEETING YOU JOHN -

headed off again with renewed energy. had to pull in to farm house 6km ou of town to ask for water or else I would have not made it. Pat Cleary helped me with water and we shared fundraising stories nice meeting you too Brownie, Hope to share a beer with you next time.
